A sarcoma is a type of cancer that starts in tissues like bone or muscle. Soft tissue sarcómas can deveIop in soft tissués like fat, muscIe, nerves, fibrous tissués, blood vessels, ór deep skin tissués. They can aIso be fóund in thé trunk, head ánd neck area, internaI organs, and thé area in báck of the abdominaI (belly) cavity (knówn as the rétroperitoneum ). Its most cómmon in people bétween the ages óf 20 and 60, but can occur in people of any age, even in infants.
